Nero Gallery è lieta di presentare la prima mostra personale in Italia di Paw Grabowski in arte øjeRum, l’artista e musicista di Copenaghen che ha stravolto il mondo del collage.
Il suo solo show intitolato “Imagine Absence” raccoglie 16 collages inediti provenienti da due serie diverse: Needleshaped Silence e Silent Figure With Landscape. La prima serie, Needleshaped Silence, ritrae dei soggetti di diversi periodi, classici o moderni, persi nel buio abissale. Dalla loro testa, assente per metà, esce una nuvola di costellazioni colorate che ricorda l’immensità intorno a noi. Questi collage sono racconti silenziosi, sospesi nel tempo, dove i personaggi diventano parte del mondo astrale. Questi cieli stellati ricordano la forza del pensiero, la sua estensione nel mondo e nel tempo e spingono lo spettatore ad interrogarsi sul contenuto di questi sogni.
La seconda serie di collage Silent Figure With Landscape, ricorda allo spettatore le tematiche e le atmosfere romantiche dell’Ottocento. I paesaggi inseriti all’interno delle figure tramite la tecnica del collage, esprimono i movimenti delle loro anime, la tempesta interiore che li travolge. I personaggi esprimono il desiderio di far partecipare l’ambiente esterno al loro stato d’animo, di usare le forze della natura per esprimere le loro emozioni, i loro sentimenti più nascosti.
La particolarità dei lavori di øjeRum è di saper associare diversi periodi storici ed artistici come per esempio la scultura antica, gli affreschi medievali, i dipinti classici o la fotografia, e di farli interagire in una chiave nuova e moderna.
øjeRum è anche riconosciuto per il suo lavoro di musicista dove si differenzia per il suo universo surreale, misterioso e poetico. La sua musica e la sua arte sono strettamente correlate. Queste due facce del lavoro dell’artista si intrecciano costantemente, ogni disco essendo accompagnato da un suo collage che illustra il mondo interiore nell’opera musicale.

Nero Gallery is pleased to present the first solo show in Italy by Paw Grabowski in art øjeRum, the Copenhagen artist and musician who has disrupted the world of collage.
His only show titled “Imagine Absence” collects 16 unreleased collages from two different series: Needleshaped Silence and Silent Figure With Landscape. The first series, Needleshaped Silence, depicts subjects from different periods, classic or modern, lost in the abyssal darkness. From their head, half absent, comes a cloud of colored constellations that recalls the immensity around us. These collages are silent tales, suspended over time, where characters become part of the astral world. These starry skies recall the power of thought, its extent in the world and in time and prompt the viewer to question the content of these dreams.
The second series of silent figure with landscape collages reminds the viewer of the themes and romantic atmospheres of the nineteenth century. The landscapes inserted inside the figures through the collage technique, express the movements of their souls, the inner storm that overwhelms them. The characters express the desire to let the environment participate in their mood, to use the forces of nature to express their emotions, their most hidden feelings.
The peculiarity of øjeRum’s works is to be able to associate different historical and artistic periods such as ancient sculpture, medieval frescoes, classical paintings or photography, and to make them interact in a new and modern key.
øjeRum is also recognized for his work as a musician where he differs in his surreal, mysterious and poetic universe. His music and art are closely related. These two sides of the artist’s work are constantly intertwined, each record being accompanied by a collage of his that illustrates the inner world in the musical work.
